Dog Training
Many dog owners mistakenly believe that training is only essential for working dogs, service animals, or show competitors. However, the truth is that professional training is one of the most important investments you can make in your dog’s well-being—and in your relationship with them.
At Centennial Kennels, we believe that every dog, regardless of breed, age, or background, can benefit tremendously from a structured training program.
Training isn’t just about obedience—it’s about communication. Through consistent and compassionate guidance, your dog learns how to navigate the world confidently and respectfully. A well-trained dog understands boundaries, follows cues, and can engage positively with both people and other pets. Whether you’re enjoying a calm walk around the neighborhood, welcoming guests into your home, or spending time at the dog park, proper training lays the groundwork for these experiences to be enjoyable and stress-free.
Additionally, training strengthens the bond between dog and owner by fostering trust, clarity, and mutual respect. When your dog understands what’s expected of them, they’re happier and more secure. And when you know how to communicate with your dog effectively, you’re able to guide them with confidence and consistency.
Our expert trainers tailor each session to meet your dog’s unique temperament, behavior, and goals—ensuring lasting results and a better quality of life for both of you.

AKC S.T.A.R PUPPY $179
Attend an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy class for at least 6 weeks. Your instructor will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test at the end of the course. Upon passing the test, you’ll get an application to send to AKC® for the certificate or title (includes certificate). All dogs are welcome to participate in the program including purebreds and mixed breeds. To participate in S.T.A.R Puppy course dogs must be under 1 year of age.
-
AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) $179
CGC is open to all dogs–purebred and mixed breed. There are no age minimums or limits for participating in the Canine Good Citizen program, because yes, you can always teach an old dog new tricks!
-
AKC Community Canine (CGCA) $189
The AKC Community Canine program is all about ensuring you have a well-behaved dog while you’re out and about in the community. Where CGC happens in a simulated environment, the 10-step AKC Community Canine test is conducted in real life situations—like walking on a busy sidewalk or through a local park–giving you and your dog the confidence to enjoy everyday to the fullest, no matter what comes your way.
-
AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU) $189
Another step beyond the basic CGC test is the AKC Urban CGC title, which tests your CGC skills in an active city or town setting. There are 10-steps to the test that your dog must pass to earn the official AKC Urban CGC title, but it is administered in a place where there are cars, streets to be crossed, noises, and fast-paced distractions.
